Jussie Smollett Testifies He And Alleged Attacker Were Romantic
Actor Jussie Smollett, 39, testified in his own criminal trial Monday and detailed his relationship with the alleged attackers, claiming that he had a romantic relationship with one of them.
According to Vibe, the actor is facing “six counts of disorderly conduct after law enforcement claims he staged a racist and homophobic attack and lied about it for publicity in January 2019. He was indicted in March 2020 after prosecutors had previously dropped similar charges against him related to the incident and a judge refused to drop the case.”
The two brothers, Abel and Ola Osundairo, are the alleged attackers in the 2019 Chicago incident. Smollett claimed that he and Abel met privately, consumed drugs, and participated in sexual activity.
“I always have weed on me… well, not now,” Smollett testified per the outlet, adding, “And he [Abel] had the cocaine.”
The Empire actor claimed that he and Abel visited a bathhouse in Boystown, and got a private room. He detailed that they “did more drugs and made out.” He also claims that in another visit to the bathhouse that the two kissed and illuded to that “there was some touching.”
Abel has testified he never had a sexual relationship with Smollett.
