Kanye Fans Create Emulator To Pirate ‘Donda 2’ Album
Some Kanye fans are opting out of purchasing the $200 Stem Player and have decided to take matters into their own hands.
On Friday, Ye uploaded 16 tracks off of Donda 2 to his platform and device. Per XXL, “a Reddit user has already written a script that essentially emulates the Stem Player by tricking the website into thinking an actual device is connected and extracts the layers of each song.”
According to Digital Music News, how fans have been manipulating the tracks and then pirating them boils down to using a technology similar to that of Spleeter. Spleeter is a program that separates layers of digital song files into individual stems. This allows a user to isolate the vocals or drums of a track, just like Stem Player.
It was only a matter of time before fans would find themselves working around buying that $200 device.
