Alabama Woman Wins $2 Million on Lottery Scratcher Bought in Fayetteville
A woman from Alabama is planning to come home to North Carolina, after she won $2 million on a North Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off ticket she bought in Fayetteville.
Brittaney Dominguez grew up in North Carolina, and plans to move back home, after her win on a $20 Mega 7’s lottery scratch-off ticket she bought at the VGO 28 on North Reilly Road in Fayetteville.
“Now I can buy my house and be back home,” Dominguez said. “I just couldn’t believe it. It didn’t really register.”
Dominguez made a return trip to the store to check her ticket and confirmed her big win.
“The store clerk gave me a huge hug,” Dominguez said. “I told her she was my good luck charm.”
Dominguez chose to take the lump sum payout of $1.2 million on her winnings. After federal and state tax withholdings, that landed her $854,633. She could have chosen a $100,000 annuity for 20 years instead.
With her winnings, Dominguez said she’s coming back to North Carolina to buy a house, and will invest more of it. She may also take up her passion for cooking, with a food truck.
