BG is Free! Hot Boys Rapper Released From Prison After 11 Years
One of the original Hot Boys is finally free! Christopher Dorsey best known in Hip Hop culture as B.G. (Baby Gangsta) was sentenced to 14 years in prison for firearm possession and obstruction of justice in 2012. He was a founding member of the Hot Boys along with Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk.
BG started rapping at the age of 12 as a duo with Lil Wayne the duo signed to Cash Money Records. The duo evolved into solo acts, with BG’s 1996 platinum album Chopper City in the Ghetto popularizing the term Bling Bling. According to his social media accounts, he’s added Hollywood to the name a possible play, off of his 2009 Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood album.
If you’ve ever used the term Bling or felt the spirit of Cash Money taking over for the 99 & 2000s hit your soul, then you understand the joyousness of this occasion. Currently, BG has been released to a halfway house with a full release expected in July of 2024. For his birthday on Sunday, the legendary rapper posted this message on his official Instagram account:
“After 12 winters and 13 summers, I see the end zone. It’s my last #Birthday being buried alive. This year I’m celebrating the whole Virgo cycle, matter of fact, from this year forward I’m living and celebrating like everyday is #MyBIRTHDAY. The main focus, is to stay focused. I’m not letting nobody rob me of my productivity, prosperity, positivity and peace of mind. My dreams then got bigger and my vision is clearer. 13 years was more then enough time for me to change the reckless path I was on. I’m getting back in the 100MillionDolla race, and my big homie gave me the route. #RNS All the Real1’s I’ll see y’all at the top, All you fake 1’s I’ll hear your echo from the bottom.”
Birdman was one of the first people to greet BG as Hip Hop welcomes him home!
