Looking For A Fun Novelty Holiday Gift? Try Elf Crocs!
The holiday season is here, and now is the time to hunt down the perfect gifts for your loved ones. But if it’s a hilarious gag gift you’re after, look no further than the new Crocs collaboration. The famously controversial shoe brand has released a festive new clog that pays homage to the immensely popular Christmas movie, Elf.
You’d be hard pressed to find somebody who doesn’t list Elf as one of their all-time favorite Christmas movies. Even 20 years after its release it still resonates with fans as the ultimate feel-good flick for the holiday season. Will Ferrell shines with whimsical charm as Buddy the Elf, an endearingly positive human who was raised by Christmas elves. Throughout the movie Buddy tries to adapt to a new life in the Big Apple, spreading holiday cheer to his family and loved ones along the way.
So to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this timeless Christmas classic, Crocs is now selling limited-edition Elf Classic Clogs!
As you can see on the Crocs website, the Elf clog resembles Buddy’s elf garb with 100% authenticity. The body of the shoe is green with white tufts of fuzz lining the collar. The clog also comes with Elf-themed Jibbitz charms that you can attach to the shoe. These Jibbitz are mainly references to iconic lines from the movie, including Buddy’s exclamations of Santa’s arrival and numerous hug invitations.
Men’s and women’s sizes are now selling at $74.99. For such a hefty price, you better make sure whoever winds up with the Elf shoes after a game of White Elephant wears them as much as possible.
In a way it makes sense why Crocs would want to emulate the lovably goofy elf-man. Much like Buddy himself, Crocs are often viewed as unorthodox and too gaudy to take seriously. But be that as it may, they provide comfort and joy to many people around the world. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what the holidays are all about?
I mean, even as an Elf fan I’m still not gonna wear them. But I can still respect Crocs’ efforts…from a distance. Happy holidays!
All the New Hallmark Christmas Movies for this Year
It’s never too early to plan your Christmas viewing schedule! With that in mind, The Hallmark Channel is already getting into the Christmas spirit, with a new Christmas movie dropping every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8 pm ET. Watch the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and its streaming service Hallmark Movies Now. On the weekend of October 20, Hallmark kicked off their “Countdown to Christmas” with Checkin’ it Twice, Where Are You, Christmas?, and Under the Christmas Sky. On the weekend of October 26, the channel debuts Ms. Christmas Comes to Town, Christmas By Design, and Mystic Christmas.
Some of the actors and actresses who will be featured in the films include Kevin McGarry, Kim Matula, Lyndsy Fonseca, Michael Rady, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Ryan Paevey, Rebecca Dalton, Jonathan Keltz, Jessy Schram, Chandler Massey, Jaicy Elliot and Brant Daugherty, among many others.
Hallmark has made an industry of sorts out of holiday movies and most of them get re-aired every year. Per Vox, the 2006 film The Christmas Card, made Hallmark realize that it could focus on Christmas programming in November and December. And that film has continued to air every holiday season since its debut.
Appropriate for a channel that was started by a greeting card company, Hallmark does very well with seasonal programming. But apparently, they work on Christmas programming all year round. The Vox feature reports that they shoot Christmas movies even in the summer. Of course, they have to put effort into making it always look like Christmas. But it’s surely worth it to come up with tons of Christmas content.
Take a look below at the full schedule. And for more information about every new movie, head to their “Countdown to Christmas” site.
