Beasley Fayetteville Raises Over $200k in 2023 St. Jude Radiothon
For 37 years, WKML and the Beasley Fayetteville team have proudly been supporting the families and children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. That’s the longest continuous radiothon campaign in the country!
And for year 37, the listeners of WKML and Sunny 94.3 stepped up in ways we’ve rarely seen, raising $201,075 to help make sure we will see a day where no child dies from cancer. Our 2023 St. Jude Country Cares wrapped up on December 15, with our community stepping up and making us proud.
“We are so thankful for a longtime partner like WKML and for the Fayetteville community for their dedication to the kids of St. Jude,” said Taylor Voisin, representative for St. Jude.
On KML, Don Chase and Sarah kicked things off Thursday morning, followed up by tag-teams with Minda Lou and KC Atkins. WKML has been involved with St. Jude for longer than the actual Country Cares program has even existed, with Don Chase involved almost every single year.
We were proud to have on board our friends at Sunny 94.3, with Paul Johnson hosting ALL DAY both days of the radiothon.
“Our team showed just how much they care for these amazing children and families this year, and I couldn’t be more proud of them,” said Sarah Weaver, Programming Director on WKML. “The mission of St. Jude is near and dear to all our hearts, and it’s an honor to be able to support this cause on behalf of our amazing listening family.”
St. Jude is an important mission for our Beasley Fayetteville stations, because of the incredible work they do. The hospital in Memphis, Tenn. provides completely FREE medical care for children battling various pediatric cancers. The average patient treatment expense is $425,000, and families never have to pay a penny for any of that. It’s because of the incredible opening of your hearts and wallets that this is even a possibility.
