Possible Heat Index Of 110 On Friday
Just when you thought it couldn’t get hotter…the temperatures keep rising.
The Fayetteville Observer is reporting that Friday and Saturday (July 21 & 22) are about to get hot. Most of us are used to the hot weather during the summer, but it doesn’t make it any more tolerable.
Record high temperatures in Fayetteville this week have range between 102-106. Due to heat and constant humidity, the heat index this weekend over most of the Sandhills will be 110 or very close to it.
While we normally see breaks in the heat when temps drop below 70 during the night, that hasn’t happened much recently. This is what makes the heat that much stronger, and a lot harder to tolerate.
There are multiple organizations working to provide fans for those eligible for them. Visit The Fayetteville Observer for eligibility.
Please remember to drink water, stay in the shade, wear a hat if outdoors, and always apply sunscreen!
