‘Martin: The Reunion’ Trailer Finds Cast Coming Together After 30 Years
After three decades, the Martin gang is back and it might not be for the last time as BET teased a possible reunion for the iconic television show.
The OG cast members Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold, and Carl Anthony Payne start off the trailer saying, “This one’s for you, Tommy,” in unison.
Tommy Ford who played Tommy Strawn in the series died in 2016 from a surgery complication.
“For the first time in 30 years, one of TV’s most iconic casts is back together,” the trailer teases. Cast members are seen walking into the Martin set and sitting on the show’s iconic apartment couch to talk through their favorite memories from the show as throwback clips play.
“We captured the Black experience,” Lawrence says in a sit-down with his former costars.
“It’s pure testament to our hard work,” says Arnold.
Payne adds, “This show was, and still is, big for the culture.”
The special episode will also feature special guests like Snoop Dogg, who says he used to “watch the show more than we would make music.” Brian McKnight and Tommy Davidson are also listed as reunion guests.
As the trailer ends the host poses the question, “Will there be a reunion? The people want to know.” The camera turns to Lawrence smiling and the trailer fades to the end card.
Martin: The Reunion is scheduled to air on June 16 on BET.
