This Syracuse Trick Play Is the Smoothest You’ll Ever See
Syracuse QB Garrett Shrader pulled off a crazy trick play during their game against Purdue on Saturday.
With a late lead on Purdue, the Syracuse quarterback knew his team needed to keep the ball and get a first down. That’s when they ran what appeared to be a simple handoff play up the middle.
When the entire Purdue team collapsed onto the supposed ball carrier, Shrader quietly spun around and bootlegged out to the right, with nothing but green grass in front of him.
Shrader ran as far as he could to kill some additional time, before sliding to the turf as bewildered Purdue defenders tried to catch up to him.
Syracuse held on to win the game. And that play was a thing of beauty. Watch this:
