There are plenty of ways to work your shoulders. One of my preferred ways is the shoulder press. I would suggest starting with a light weight to ensure you don’t have any pain while performing the exercise. Like with all my shoulder exercises I do 4 sets of 15, 12, 10, and 10 (maybe 8 if you go heavy) reps.
