Sha’Carri Richardson is the World’s Fastest Woman After World Championship Win
Sha’Carri Richardson broke an event record on Monday in the 100-meter World Championship race in Budapest, Hungary.
She ran a 10.65-second race from the outside lane in a historic moment. She’s now tied for 5th for the fastest time ever in that race. Winning from Lane 9 is considered nearly impossible, as that’s usually the slowest qualifier.
She went from being stripped of her championship and banned from the Tokyo Games in 2021, failing to make the semis at the 2022 US Championships, to becoming the fastest woman in the world. She earned this, she fought for this, she was determined to make this happen and she did.
