PWC Approves Solar Farm Along 301 Near Elk Road in Hope Mills
If you’ve been driving along 301 near Hope Mills lately, you’ve probably seen land clearing that’s set to be a solar farm.
Fayetteville Public Works Commission has approved the spot at 3858 Gillespie Street – aka U.S. 301 – to be a solar farm on the 43.75 acre lot.
The property that used to be Sally Hills Farms is not far from the intersection with Elk Road.
The City of Fayetteville still has to give final approval, but PWC recently approved the construction bid for a Maxton company called Oral’s Construction Company Inc., for $3.44 million.
The farm is expected to be a 1.9-megawatt solar farm.
This exciting development could result in a lower electric bill and a more positive environmental impact (good news all around!).
