Michael Strahan’s Daughter Being Treated For Brain Cancer At Duke
Football and television star Michael Strahan has battled some serious foes over the years, but he admitted this most recent one is the biggest. Strahan’s 19-year-old daughter Isabella is fighting brain cancer.
Isabella and her dad revealed the diagnosis and journey of her battle so far on “Good Morning America” this week. The Strahans said that Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma back in October, after an MRI revealed the tumor on the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination.
“This is something that is so personal that I didn’t know if it would be something that she would want to share,” Michael Strahan told Robin Roberts during the interview. “But her idea was, ‘I want to share it and I want to help other people,’ and that goes into the spirit of who she’s always been.”
Isabella has already undergone surgery and and radiation treatment. Her care now is shifting to Duke in Durham, where her twin sister is a student. She will undergo chemotherapy and other treatments there.
As part of that, she has launched a YouTube series to help people track her journey. She wants to keep people who might be going through similar things inspired. Her first video was posted yesterday, and definitely is worth a watch.
